Taking Care of Leopard Gecko

If you are planning to adopt a Leopard Gecko as you pet, you should know how to take care of it. It is quite hard and complicated to take care of it since it is quite sensitive reptile. So what you should know before you can adopt this reptile as your pet?

Habitat

Make sure you put it in a cage with a quite similar environment to it habitat. Put soil mixed with sand or wood pulp as the ground. Put some woods and small stones to make the cage look like a natural nature. Keep the temperature not to low and make sure the surrounding air is dry. It is good to give it enough light and put the cage inside a big and open room. This is to make sure that it wont be to stress in the cage.

Feeding

It is quite easy to feed Leopard Gecko. You can feed with insects twice or triple a day. You also can feed it with spiders or worms. One of the best food for this reptile is crickets. Besides, crickets are easy to find and can be bought at any pet stores easily. One important thing to remember is to make sure the insects you feed to your Leopard Gecko is still alive because it wont eat any dead prey. Since it wont drink to much water, a little water spot is enough.

Disease

Please keep your Leopard Gecko from any disease. They are several diseases that this reptile may experience. Some disease caused by the lack of vitamin D and calcium, bacterial infection, unsuitable environment or stress. Always keep the cage clean and make sure to feed it enough food to maintain it healthy and happy.
